Role Overview:

As a Junior Civil Technologist at Maven Consulting, you’ll play a crucial role in capturing photos of civil infrastructure for review and analysis. Your attention to detail and technical skills will contribute to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Field Data Collection:
    • Conduct site visits to collect data, including capturing photos of civil infrastructure such as roads, bridges, utilities, and other relevant structures.
    • Collaborate with senior technologists, engineers & inspectors during data collection to ensure accuracy.
    • Inspection of installed structures and related civil work through all stages of construction and/or repair to ensure the work is completed in compliance with Client Standards, designs, specifications, and quality requirements
    • Act as field delegate for the Senior Inspector, taking photos, conveying messages to contractors, witnessing mandrelling and conducting final inspections
  • Software Proficiency:
    • MS Word, Outlook, Excel, iPads Apps
  • Construction Field Experience:
    • Gain practical experience by participating in construction field activities.
    • Assist in quality control inspections and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Highschool diploma. Diploma in engineering technology or related field would be an asset
  • Experience working in trades, such as civil construction, mechanical and electrical installations in residential or commercial  projects.
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Familiarity with municipal infrastructure and principal related to utilities (power, storm water, water) an asset
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, to work with project team, contractor and clients
  • Strong organization and documentation skills to document and share findings.
