Electrical Inspector – PLT

LOCATION: Greater Vancouver and Greater Victoria areas, BC.

We are looking for professional Electrical Inspectors with experience as Power Line Technicians, and most importantly aligns with our team values (Safety, Wellbeing, Respect, Quality, Collaborate & Growth Mindset). These positions are based in the Greater Vancouver and Greater Victoria areas and will be responsible for supporting projects for our utility client.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete Electrical Field Review Reports identifying any non-conformance issues
  • Complete all Electrical Field Review or Inspection reports in a timely matter and submit to Client as soon as work is completed or within three working days from each inspection
  • Review photographs, test reports, and as-constructed drawings submitted by constructor during post-construction
  • Electrical Field Reviews for project work (generally during construction)
  • As Professional of Record (POR) representative, Field Review of Overhead and Underground Electrical construction
  • Attend pre-construction meeting to discuss Field Review plan with construction resources
  • Electrical Quality Assurance Inspection for program work (on completed work or existing assets)
  • Complete inspection of existing electrical infrastructure during project planning or design to document existing installation details/condition
  • Complete Quality Assurance Inspection reports of Overhead and Underground distribution electrical program work
  • Communication and direction about nonconforming work must be identified and disclosed in writing while on site at the time of the Field Review.

Requirements:

  • Education: Qualified Red Seal Journeyman Powerline Technician Trade Certification
  • Experience with overhead & underground assets, pad mounted equipment and cabling construction
  • Electrical Utility experience is an asset
  • Ability to read construction drawings (including electrical and other utility drawings) and interpret the information with respect to site conditions and, impact to design.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and availability to travel and work on projects across British Columbia (30%-35%)
  • Knowledge of BC Hydro Distribution Standards is an asset
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, team participation and communication skills.

Compensation:

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Based on the requirements set out above, the salary range for this position is $45.00 – $60.00 hourly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
