We are looking for a Welding Inspector who is self-motivated, enjoy working outdoors in a challenging construction-oriented environment, safety minded and have a good working knowledge of applying engineering standards and specifications, and most importantly aligns with our team core values (Safety, Wellbeing, Respect, Quality, Collaborate, Growth Mindset). This position is based in Vancouver Lower mainland and is responsible for providing Welding, Coating and Lining inspection services in the field for pipeline and other utilities construction.

Responsibilities:
This work requires collaboration with inspections team and reports to our Inspections Manager. The core responsibilities include:
- Conduct visual inspection services for welding, coating and lining for various projects
- Conduct (or witness) applicable non-destructive examination (NDE) methods such as: RT, UT, MT, PT, air testing, and welder testing.
- Support QA/QC for welding on pipelines and infrastructure tied to capital and maintenance projects, including Wastewater Treatment Plants.
- Verify correct materials, tolerances, and adherence to design drawings.
- Prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate inspection reports using proper welding terminology.
Who we are looking for:
- A background in welding or a related trades program (flexible on formal education if experience is strong).
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated field experience with piping projects as a certified welding inspector
- Currently certified to CWB/CSA W178.2 Level 2 or 3.
- Code endorsement and working knowledge of CSA Z662, CSA W47.1/W59, and ASME B31.3.
- CGSB Level 2 certification in NDT testing method such as magnetic particle, liquid penetrant and ultrasound inspection would be ideal.
- Must provide and maintain their own inspection equipment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Considerable knowledge of proper safety procedures and WorkSafe BC requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Valid BC driver’s license.

Compensation:
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. The wage rate for this role is from $65-80 per hour.
