North Vancouver, B.C., August 12, 2020 – Maven Consulting Ltd. “Maven” has announced that as an extension of their Share 1% program, they will be partnering with Athletics for Kids “A4K”. For the next 2 years Maven has committed to providing financial support, sponsoring fundraisers, and more.
“This partnership with Athletics for Kids means a lot to us. I know how important sport was for me as a child; It kept me out of trouble and helped me develop some very meaningful relationships and memories that have lasted my entire life.” – Trevor St. Germain, Maven Principal & Co-Founder.
A4K is an organization that exists to eliminate the financial barriers of entry into amateur sport for BC kids from lower income families, and some of the most vulnerable kids throughout the Province. They’re dedicated to keeping underprivileged youth involved in sport; They’ve distributed over 2,600 sports grants to children and youth between the ages of 5 and 18, all around BC. Their vision is that all BC children have the opportunity to play sports and realize their full potential both in sports and in life.
A4K collaborates with hundreds of organizations to ensure children and youth have every opportunity to stay active and healthy. Their ability to provide children with the opportunity to participate in sports has created healthier, more vibrant, and more inclusive communities across the Province.
In these times of uncertainty, Maven is providing critical core stability and support to make sure that once sports resume, every child can get back into the game. After the disruption COVID-19 has caused, participating in sport will be even more critical than ever before to get kids physically fit, mentally strong and connected to their peers, mentors, and communities.
“We’re very excited to continue our relationship with Athletics for Kids with this initiative. We created the Share 1% program simply out of Trevor and I’s values as founders. We wanted to make sure that we weren’t just thinking of ourselves when building a company; We wanted to be involved and provide opportunities for people in the communities we work in.” – Graham Carter, Maven Co-Founder.
Maven employees aren’t just dedicated to their jobs and their clients; They’re the hockey coaches, the fundraising committee members and the people serving food at shelters as a part of the community. So, as a business, they’ve committed to invest 1% of their annual revenue into local community groups, while also considering how they can support the organizations with their time and expertise.
“Since Maven’s inception in 2013, our core values have been based around making sure we have a profound impact on the communities in which we work. We believe that by investing both financially and with our time to all kinds of community groups, we send a strong message of support, while further establishing a caring, unified culture within our organization”, says St. Germain.
The impact this partnership will create is exciting and meaningful, and the local community will be stronger, healthier, and more inclusive because of it. Carter says, “We are truly all in this together and with an amazing community partnership like this, we can make a huge positive impact for deserving local children, youth, and families.”
Athletics For Kids Program Testimonials:
Gracie says: “my coaches are the best thing that we could ever count on, cheer us on, and to provide the things we need to learn. My teammates are always watching out for each other. My favourite part about football is that when I knew nothing about it, everyone was there to teach me and cheer me on. My favourite drills are the tackling drills. The games are fun but whether we win or lose we are still a team and that’s what makes us a good one!”.
Jacob says: “Hockey is fun to play and I love making goals. My heroes are Pavel Bure and Jake Virtanen and I want to play right wing forever!!”
Justin says: “I enjoy baseball because it is very fun to play…even if it is raining! My favourite position is playing first base because I know how to catch the ball with my glove.” I want to practice more and more until I become an expert!”
