University of Victoria’s Science Venture has been delivering innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programming to Vancouver Island youth, 5-18 years of age, since 1991. Maven’s contribution helped support a multitude of programs including: helping to purchase Sphero Robotics for their outreach program; fund their Maker Tech After-School Club where children learned to work with wood and solder electrical components; helped with staff and transportation costs for the Esquimalt Nation After-School Club where a variety of STEM activities were delivered; and Maven provided 10 full bursary spots for youth in their Engineering Summer Camp.
