As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Procurement Specialist to play a key role in delivering an exciting portfolio of capital projects.
We are looking for a Procurement Specialist who can support contract lifecycle and procurement processes in the public sector. This position can be based remotely or from our North Vancouver office and is responsible for supporting procurement processes for utility projects (focusing on power utilities).

Responsibilities:
This work requires collaboration with internal departments, including legal, finance, and operations, to develop procurement strategies and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and reports to our Team Lead, Project Services & Procurement. The core responsibilities include:
- Lead low to medium complexity procurement processes to ensure projects are delivered safely, with quality, and within budget and schedule
- Implement project sourcing strategies or related work packages using PPM supply chain strategy selection process analysis, knowledge of public sector procurement law as well as application of relevant supply chain and commercial concepts
- Support procurement projects by:
- Developing project contracting plans and market sounding documentation
- Facilitating bidding processes, evaluation, and supplier negotiations
- Performing contract management activities to ensure all parties meet contractual obligations
- Draft and manage supplier communications related to contractual documentation, ensuring proper documentation and filing of all correspondence
- Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage and performance; identifying issues, taking timely action to resolve issues and communicating the same with stakeholders/project teams
- Draft and manage communication with suppliers on required contractual documentations, and file all correspondence as required
Who we are looking for:
- Minimum of 5 years in sourcing or equivalent, preferably in a complex public sector environment such as BC Hydro
- Strong working knowledge of end-to-end supply management processes including competitive bidding, contract management, purchasing strategies, competitive bid management, contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and life cycle costing processes
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication, conflict resolution and stakeholder relationship management skills to engage others, build consensus and resolve issues
- Experience in infrastructure capital project sourcing and power utility projects is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related or technical field, such as Supply Chain, Business, Law, Economics, Finance, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent
- Certificate or additional education or professional designation in Supply Chain Management, would be an asset
- Certificate or additional education in Project Management is an asset
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Strong judgement and tact when dealing with sensitive issues and confidential information
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good customer service skills, with a focus on partnership and finding common solutions
- A relationship builder who establishes effective and long-lasting working relationships with all levels of employees, suppliers and external partners
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken

Compensation:
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. The salary range for this role is from $77,000-$110,000 per year.
